Community Engagement Services
The Community Engagement Program (CEP) seeks to build UIC’s community-engaged research capacity by addressing the social determinants of health that are relevant to local and regional communities and the broader translational research community. The CEP offers an integrated resource structure to help increase the number and quality of studies addressing the health and participation of special populations including youth, young adult, older adult, veteran, LGBT, African-American, Hispanic and economically disadvantaged individuals. CEP also coordinates special populations’ research with CTSA hubs around the country and shares related resources with collaborating and/or affiliated organizations in the Chicago area.
CEP can also provide training for researchers, community health workers, and other stakeholders that integrate community engagement and implementation science into the research plan and disseminate findings in culturally-tailored and culturally-relevant ways.
